Ghaziabad: The city is going to have a makeover of Rs 200 crore. Roads will be repaired, parks will be developed and a healthy public infrastructure in Ghaziabad’s ten industrial clusters will be set up for residents. The Uttar Pradesh State Industrial Development Authority (UPSID) has started the planning on the revamp program, which will be carried out under the Pradhan Mantri Gati Shakti Yojana.

There are a total of 208 medium and heavy industries. Of which, 5,780 small units, and 50,570 micro units that are spread across ten industrial clusters.”GMC and the Nagar Palikas are responsible for maintaining these areas, but in recent years, the state of infrastructure like roads, parks, and streetlights in these clusters has worsened,” said Raghunandan Singh Yadav, director general manager of UPSIDA, said a report by Times of Inida.

Yadav mentioned that the authority has identified sections within these industrial clusters for redevelopment. “The work will mainly involve repairing drains and roads, particularly in the Bulandshahr Road Industrial area, GT Road Industrial area, Sahibabad Site 4 Industrial area, and Loha Mandi,” he said. The official said it would issue tenders worth Rs 200 crore will be issued. Along with that, CCTV camera and high mast lights will be set up in the selected areas.

Earlier, the Ghaziabad Development Authority (GDA) had approved the GIS-based draft of the Unified Master Plan-2031 for Ghaziabad, Modinagar/Muradnagar, and Loni. The authorities had discussed the matter in Meerut on Friday. The plan will be sent forward to the state government for final approval.

The Unified Master Plan-2031 sets out a development framework covering around 32,302 hectares. The land use is allocated as follows: 39.85 per cent for residential areas, 4 per cent for commercial and mixed-use spaces, 10.68 per cent for industrial activities, 19.67 per cent for recreational and entertainment facilities, and 12.79 per cent for transportation infrastructure.
