The PokerGO Tour debuted its first series comprised entirely of pot-limit Omaha events in the spring of 2023. The idea was such a hit that a second PGT PLO Series was hosted later that year, and another in the spring of 2024. This October the PokerGO Studio inside the ARIA Resort & Casino in Las Vegas is set to play home to more exciting four-card action, with the PGT PLO Series II and the 2024 Super High Roller Bowl: Pot-Limit Omaha running back-to-back from Oct. 14-22 and Oct. 24-26, respectively.
The fourth overall PGT PLO Series is set to feature nine events, with buy-ins ranging from $5,100 up to $25,200. The schedule includes three bounty events, with the first two being progressive knockout tournaments. The championship $25,200 event will retain a cap on the number of re-entries per player at two, while all other tournaments during this festival will now allow unlimited re-entries during the registration period.
This event will, of course, award PGT points that count both toward the season-long standings and the race for the series champion honors. Whoever ends up on top at the end of that leaderboard at the end of the festival will be rewarded with a $10,000 PGT Passport bonus and the PGT Gold Cup. Prior series champions include Lautaro Guerra (March 2023), Daniel Geeng (October 2023), and Samuli Sipila (March 2024).
The 2024 SHRB: PLO will follow hot on the heels of the PGT PLO Series. The $100,000 buy-in tournament will run from Oct. 24-26. The press release announcing this year’s tournament included information about several changes to the event, which include, “…registration remaining open until the start of Day 2 and a reduction to 60-minute levels. For players entering on-time, they will receive a $2,500 discount on the entry fee of $3,000. The PGT shot clock will be active during the [event], with players having 20 seconds to act on their hand preflop, and 30 seconds postflop. Time extensions are worth 30 seconds each, regardless of which street they are used, and players begin with nine for entry before the second break and then six thereafter. Players receive an additional nine time extensions at the start of Day 2, and an additional six at the start of the final table.”
This event made its premiere in 2023, with Jared Bleznick topping a field of 38 entries in the largest buy-in PLO tournament ever held to earn the SHRB ring and a career-best payday of $1,292,000.
There will be two satellites for the PGT PLO Series II, each costing $560 to enter. Those satellites kick off at 1:00 PM local time on Oct. 12 and 13. There is also a $10,000 buy-in satellite planned for the SHRB: PLO which will begin at 1:00 PM on Oct. 23.
For fans looking to follow the PLO action from home, the first eight events of the PGT PLO Series II and the SHRB: PLO will all be live streamed on PokerGO. The PGT PLO Series II broadcasts will cover day 2 action from events 1-8, with each stream beginning at 1:00 PM PT. The SHRB: PLO will feature two days of coverage on Oct. 25 and 26.
