The Asian Poker Tour will for the first time host an event at City of Dreams Manila, with APT Manila 2024 set to take place in the property’s recently opened poker room from 28 October to 7 November.
APT Manila will run for 11 days and feature around US$3 million in series guarantees, including a US$1.78 million Main Event guarantee. The series is sponsored by online poker site Natural8 and will be run in partnership with Soul Poker, the APT said.
Series highlights will include a Mystery Bounty Hunter, High Roller and Super High Roller.
The APT noted that APT Manila represents the tour’s first visit to the Philippine capital since it was sold by former owner Asianlogic Group more than two years ago to APT Events Private Limited – a newly formed entity linked to high-profile Malaysian poker player Michael Soyza.
Having grown rapidly since, the APT also pointed out that the US$1.78 million Main Event guarantee is four times larger than the size of the tour’s previous Manila-based tournament offering.
