High Amibitions for the Main Event

Deividas Daubaris

Lofty sights are set for the upcoming WPO Bratislava Main Event, as it aims to break the world record for attendance in a six-max format. With multiple Day 1 flights and the option for rentries, the stakes will be sky-high from September 25-29.

For a €500 buy-in, players will compete in short-handed action, a signature style of WPO tournaments.

To break the record, this year’s entries will need to exceed those from the 2022 WPO Bratislava Main Event (2,221 entries), which set the current record for the largest six-max live tournament. Deividas Daubaris triumphed, earning a career-high €120,000 after defeating Adrien Guyon heads-up at Banco Casino.

The tournament generated a prize pool of €977,240, the largest in Slovak poker history, setting the stage for this year’s event to reach even greater heights.

Other highlights in the schedule include:

  • Battle Royale on September 24-25 – €750 buy-in
  • Monster Stack on September 24-29 – €300 buy-in
  • High Roller on September 28-29 – €1,000 buy-in
  • Sunday Mystery on September 29 – €200 buy-in

Satellite Opportunities

For those looking to secure a seat on the cheap, several satellite tournaments are available starting from just €10. With opportunities to win full Main Event packages, these satellites offer a cost-effective way for players to join the action without breaking the bank.

  • Thursday at 21:15 CET – €50 buy-in for 1 Main Event entry (€500).

What’s included in the €1,500 package?

  • Six nights’ accommodation at the Crowne Plaza (24th to 30th September) for two people, including breakfast.
  • €230 in cash for transportation and taxes (to be paid at the hotel).

Additionally, satellites awarding the €500 buy-in for the Main Event (i.e., seat-only) are also available
