A number of Tube lines have been hit with delays, turning simple journeys in London into a nightmare.

A number of trains have been cancelled on the Circle Line, leading to some minor delays.

This is also the case from Mill Hill East to Finchley Central, on the Northern Line, but service on the rest of the line is good for now.

Parts of the Piccadilly Line remain closed until Sunday, September 1 – which has been causing much trouble for commuters between Wood Green and Cockfosters, and Rayners Lane and Uxbridge.

Meanwhile, there is reduced service on the DLR and people are being urged to factor in some extra time for their journey until Sunday.

Bakerloo line now part suspensed

The Bakerloo line has been hobbles for most of this morning. But now the line has been part-suspended on top of being delayed.

‘Mo service between Queen’s Park and Elephant & Castle and SEVERE DELAYS on the rest of the line while we fix a signal failure at Piccadilly Circus,’ TfL says on its website.

Is the Tube delayed today?

About an hour on since our last update, the lay of the land has changed a little on the Tube.

While the Circle and Northern lines were previously hammered with delays, both are running just fine now.

But the Bakerloo line is experiencing delays at the time of writing – severe ones – as engineers fix a signal failure at Piccadilly Circus.

Pciaddily is still partly closed, TfL says, and the DLR remains hit by a double-whammy of severe delays between Canning Town and Woolwish Arsenal and reduced service.

Good morning

It is just past 6.30am and tens of thousands of people across London are in the middle of their morning commute.

This is what you need to know about travel on the Tube today:

  • Circle Line – minor delays due to train cancellations
  • Northern Line – there are also minor delays from Mill Hill East to Finchley Central
  • Piccadilly Line – closures are in effect until Sunday, September 1, with no service between Wood Green and Cockfosters
  • DLR – a reduced service is operating while TfL work to expand the depot in preparation for the introduction of new trains
