The 2024 World Series of Poker $10,000 Main Event is the largest main event in WSOP history.
The 2024 WSOP Main Event drew 10,112 entries which surpassed the old record of 10,043 set during the 2023 WSOP Main Event. The prize pool for the 2024 WSOP Main Event was also a record-setter at $94,041,600.
The top 1,517 finishers in the main event will end up in the money with the minimum cash set at $15,000. The eventual winner of the main event will take home $10 million and the 2024 WSOP championship bracelet. Despite the record-setting player field the winner’s prize will not set a new record as 2023 winner Daniel Weinman pocketed $12,100,000. The division of prize pools was changed for 2024 resulting in the $10 million first prize.
The top nine finishers in this year’s main event will all become millionaires and receive a seven-figure payout. That includes the runner-up who will receive $6 million. To earn a six-figure payout and receive at least $100,000 players must be one of the last 125 players from the massive field.
Day 3 of the main event began on Tuesday, July 9. Play will continue for the next nine days. The first day of the nine-player final table is scheduled for Tuesday, July 16, and a winner will be crowned on the final day of the tournament on Wednesday, July 17.
