These are the days many of us wish we invested in poker lessons and learned how to play no-limit hold’em. That’s because the 2024 World Series of Poker (WSOP) Main Event has been whittled down to nine players, and each one is guaranteed to walk away with at least a cool million.
It was another record-setting field with 10,112 players each ponying up the $10,000 entry fee. Last year, Daniel Weinman beat out 10,043 entrants.
And while the Stanley Cup is considered the most iconic trophy in sports (it has its own dedicated caretaker after all), in Vegas lore the WSOP bracelet is a coveted prize and the richest trophy in sports. And this year’s version is a doozy.
It’s a pricey bracelet to say the least, and it comes accented with $10 million cash and the prestige of being a poker champion. Jostens crafted this gem which is made of 445 grams of 10-karat yellow gold and contains 1,948 round diamonds with 230 black onyx stones and 75 red rubies aligned to make the card suits sparkle.
As we mentioned, all nine players will walk away millionaires with the runner-up taking home a not too shabby $6 million. Final Table action takes place July 16 to 17 at Horseshoe Las Vegas. Fans can follow the action online.
