With the biggest sporting festival in the world about to kick off in Paris this month, 888poker is running its own Games in poker formats to celebrate. Starting July 15, players will be competing for more than $500,000 in total guarantees in the ChampionChip Games.
There are nine days of poker on the schedule with the final hands playing out on July 23 in the massive $100k guaranteed Main Event. There are a total of 28 numbered events as part of the series, along with multiple branded side events daily, with their regular guarantees boosted for the occasions.
In total, some 60 events make up the 888poker ChampionChip Games schedule with buy-ins ranging from $3.30 to $55 and guarantees from $1,500 to $100k. The bulk of the $500,500 in guarantees comes in the numbered events with more than $360k guaranteed for those 28 headline tournaments.

$100k Guaranteed for Main Event
It will come as no surprise that the biggest game of them all for the ChampionChip Games is ChampionChip #26 – Main Event (Mystery Bounty). For $25, players will be playing for at least $100,000, and it should be a big one.
Day 1 flights are running throughout the series with the first chances to bag a Day 2 stack actually coming a day early, on July 14. There are four Day 1 flights on the 14th, and it looks like four flights per day are planned until Day 2 on July 22.
The Main Event is undoubtedly the best-value game in the whole series. With the $25 buy-in (including the $2.50 registration fee), the tournament will need 4,445 entries to reach its hefty $100k guarantee. With a multitude of Day 1 flights, as well as daily freeroll satellites, the event is sure to attract a big crowd so whether they play for overlay or not, it promises to be a huge payout for a pretty small investment.
Bounties Dominate ChampionChip Schedule
Bounty poker is big right now, both in the online and live poker worlds. Most series schedules these days feature a heavy selection of bounty games, typically in the Progressive Knockout (PKO) or Mystery Bounty (MB) formats.
The ChampionChips Games are no exception to that trend with only two events featuring in a non-bounty format. 888poker was among the pioneers in the Mystery Bounty format online, debuting it back in Sep 2022 as a new big Sunday major with $100k guaranteed for $109.
That game was a huge success and the operator quickly followed on with the MB format becoming a regular staple in its online series. In early 2023, 888poker went a step further with a series devoted exclusively to MB games.
Since then, the format has become a huge part of the operator’s daily schedule as well as series offerings. For this series, 17 of the games will be played in the MB format with a further 6 being PKO. The five remaining events are either regular MTT formats or Super KO games.
Olympic-Themed Events
There are only two events on the schedule that appear to be played as “regular” (non-bounty) poker. They fall on Jul 22 as the Triathalon ($11 BI, $8k GTD) and Rowing ($8.80 BI, $4k GTD) events, following the naming conventions of the series with names that reflect medal events in the Olympic Games.
The three Super KO games all take place on the same day, July 18. There is $25k guaranteed between them so it should make for a pretty value-heavy day. PKO games feature on July 16 and 20, with the rest of the events coming in as some form of MB.
Notable Days
While the whole ChampionChip series is a high-value affair for the smaller bankrolls, there are a couple of days on the schedule that deserve special mention. The opening day with the Opening Ceremony, the Flag Parade, and the Flame has $35k guaranteed but it is near the end of the series when things get really value-heavy.
Of course, July 23 is a massive day with $125k guaranteed including the Main Event, but July 21 is also a very big day with $61k up for grabs across four different events.
