Kicking off today, July 12, and lasting until July 21, the Preheat Festival at WPT Global is an exciting tournament series leading up to one of the operator’s main yearly events, the Summer Festival.
There is a lot to look forward to, as the Preheat Festival brings a total of $3,000,000 in guaranteed prizes across the board and the Championship Event with a generous promise of $300,000.
For those working with smaller bankrolls, there is also the Mini Championship, featuring a guarantee of $80,000, but this is just a fraction of what the WPT Global Preheat Festival has to offer.

A Schedule to Fit Every Player
There are 164 events scheduled between now and July 21, with about a dozen tournaments taking place every day. Of course, the best action is reserved for weekends, as is usual for online poker tournament series.
Keeping to the tried and tested formula, WPT Global has created a schedule to fit players of all shapes and sizes, with buy-ins starting at just $5.50 and going up to $2,100.
The entire schedule is made up of No Limit Hold’em and a few Short Deck, which may come as a bit of a disappointment to PLO fans, but this time around, WPT Global decided to stick to the Cadillac of poker for the most part (and it’s “shortened” variation).
There is a good mix of Progressive Knockout, turbo, and deep stack events on the docket, though, and these come at various buy-in levels and different guarantees, with several tournaments featuring a six-figure promise.
Two Championship Events Guaranteeing Almost $400k
The Preheat festival comes with two big events — the $220 Championship, guaranteeing $300,000, and the $22 Mini Championship, featuring a guarantee of $80,000.
Both Championship events feature multiple Day 1 flights, with at least one flight taking place every single day of the Festival.
The Mini Championship will have its final day on Saturday, July 20, while the big one will conclude the next day, on Sunday, July 21.
WPT Global also features many daily feeder tournaments where players can win their tickets for bigger events, and this is the perfect way to secure your seat in some of the more expensive tournaments that are outside of your bankroll constraints. Some of these feature overlays, too, significantly increasing your chances of winning a ticket.
WPT Global Preheat Festival Highlights
Apart from two Championship events, the Preheat Festival brings many valuable tournaments in all buy-in brackets. While the full schedule is readily available on the WPT Global Poker website, these are a few tournaments that you should definitely consider getting involved with.
