In Sanskrit, ‘Viprit’ means ‘opposite’ and ‘karni’ means ‘action’. With the regular practice of this yoga asana, you can protect both your mental and physical health. In today’s hectic life, with this simple yoga asana, you can improve your immune system and also reduce stress.

How should Viprit Karani Asana be done?

First of all, lie down on your back, then slowly lift both your legs upwards. After this, supporting the waist with both hands, lift the hips and legs completely up. During this, keep your elbows on the ground and make the back at an angle of 45 degrees with the ground and hold your breath for 30 to 60 seconds and stay in the same position. Then return by repeating the same process in the opposite order and repeat this process again and again.

Pregnant women can take the support of a wall to do this asana and rest their hips against the wall and rest their feet on the wall. You can also place a roll or towel under your neck for support.
