We may have dearly missed her presence at this year’s Met Gala, but Bella Hadid is now sating our hunger for red-carpet glamour at the 2024 Cannes Film Festival.
Last night, the supermodel made her grand return to the prestigious cinema event in one of her most provocative red-carpet looks to date. Apparently, the sheer trend isn’t going anywhere any time soon, if Hadid has anything to say about it.
She stepped out for the premiere of The Apprentice in a mesh midi dress awash in a warm latte brown — courtesy of Saint Laurent — which featured intricate ruching from her torso to her upper thighs, plus see-through fabric for the halter neckline and column skirt.
She paired the dress with shiny chocolate-brown peep-toe heels with a crisscrossing ankle strap (also by Saint Laurent), and further accessorised with glittering Chopard diamond earrings.
Beauty-wise, the fashion superstar accented the look with an Old Hollywood hairdo — involving a classic side part and voluminous curls — as well as darkly lined eyes and a glossy nude lip.
Hadid last attended the Cannes Film Festival in 2022. At the time, she doled out one jaw-dropping vintage outfit after another, including a draped black gown from Versace’s spring 1987 collection; a black and white Jean Paul Gaultier dress that Naomi Campbell had debuted on the Spring/Summer 2002 runway; a white long-sleeved number with a gold asymmetrical hip cutout from Gucci’s Tom Ford era; and a striped ball gown with off-the-shoulder puffed sleeves from Chanel.
