  • After Chabahar, India gets rights to operate Sittwe Port in Myanmmar, making it the second overseas port to be operated by India. Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) approves proposal for India Ports Global (IPGL) to take over the operations of the entire port.
  • Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) launches an extensive food safety aspects awareness campaign at prominent markets of Delhi, starting off with Khan Market and INA on April 8, 2024. The awareness campaign aims to focus on detection and mitigation of pesticide residue and contaminants in food products. 
  • Parivartan Chintan, the tri-service conference was held in New Delhi on April 8, 2024. The Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) General Anil Chauhan initiated the ‘Chintan’ program and focused on need for developing Joint Culture for the Armed Forces. 
  • President Droupadi Murmu will inaugurate a two-day Scientific Convention: Homeopathic Symposium today on the occassion of World Homoeopathy Day 2024 at Yashobhoomi Conventional Centre Dwarka, New Delhi.
