On Wednesday, the Kansas Golf Coaches Association unveiled their 2024 All-State golf teams, and several of our area athletes were honored.

Those honored included Chapman’s Danny Jackson, Southeast of Saline’s Dylan Esch, Solomon’s Spencer Coup, and Sacred Heart’s Michael Matteucci, Hunter Newell, Luke Newell and Walker Tuttle, from the 2A state champion Knights

Further to the north the Kansas City Royals were looking to get back on track, but that will have to wait as thunderstorms in the forecast postponed their game with the Guardians

The Royals will play in a split doubleheader today, with game one at 1:10 and game two set for 6:40

And finally some news from the Arena Football League where on Wednesday the AFL welcomed in Gary Compton as Director of Football Operations

Compton will oversee all aspects of football ops, including team management, game scheduling, and player development, as well as the implementation of advanced training programs, to promote health and safety

During his time as an AFL head coach Compton won a championship, and has over 25 years of experience in football operations and management.
