WCOOP returns! PokerStars hosts their annual flagship series beginning this Sunday with scheduled loaded with events for players of all shapes and sizes. It doesn’t matter if you’re a noob or jaded vet, because PokerStars cobbled together a 2024 WCOOP schedule that will cater to the needs of every type of player. That includes various bankrolls. If you’re making your way up the ranks and you want to test your skills against other players at the next level, then you have a chance to level up thanks to three different tiers of buy-ins. And if you’re just starting out, or a cash-game specialist who wants to give tournaments a whirl for the first time, or always wanted to try out a new format like HORSE or PLO8, then the lowest tier buy-in events are catered especially for you.
PokerStars has shared many innovations in the world of online gaming, but their triple tiers of buy-ins for their tournament series is one of their greatest contributions. The 2024 WCOOP has low, medium, and high buy-ins which can meet the needs of every player on the platform.
The 2024 WCOOP has 379 tournaments with buy-ins ranging from as low as $5.50 and as high as $25,000. Here’s your chance to chase glory and battle against the best players in the world. Every winner will also get awarded special silverware to commemorate their achievement on the virtual felt.
If you’re chasing big-time titles of the championship pedigree, then this year’s WCOOP has a dozen of those premier events. PokerStars will crown no less than 12 World Champions in a popular disciplines such as HORSE, 2-7 Triple Draw, 6-Max NLHE, PLO8, Heads-Up NLHE, Razz, NLHE PKO, 8-Game, Badugi, NLHE Women’s, NLHE, and 6-Max PLO.
The WCOOP Main Event is the marquee event. The winner of the WCOOP Main Event High will become an overnight sensation if they’re an unknown player. Sometimes a pro wins the Main Event, so a big score in the WCOOP can be the exact boost they need. After all, a seven-figure payout is at stake. Even for the biggest sharks in the world, that’s nothing to sneeze at.
PokerStars will host multiple Main Events for both traditional NLHE and PLO on Sunday, September 29. The low buy-in is $109 for both, the medium is set at $1,050, and the high is $10,300.
The Main Event guarantees are redonkulous too, especially for the $10,300 NLHE WCOOP Main Event-High World Championship with $5 million! The $1,050 NLHE WCOOP Main Event Medium has a $3.5 million guarantee, and even the $109 NLHE WCOOP Main Event Low as a $2.5 million guarantee.
In case you were wondering, the $10,300 WCOOP PLO Main Event High World Championship has a $800K guarantee (along with $200K for low and $500K for medium).
PokerStars also wants to recognize the grinders out there and all of the “Joey Knishes” that will grind it out for the rest of the month. Those elite players who go deep in multiple events and cash in numerous tournaments will get a chance to compete in additional prizes if they can top the WCOOP Leaderboard in all three tiers. Yes, no less than $100,000 will be added to the WCOOP’s top runners in low, medium, and high.
How about a special shoutout to all the ladies? PokerStars will be recognizing the winners of four dedicated Women’s Events that are running between September 28 and 29. These four champions will receive prize packages for the Women’s Winter Festival in London running November 21-24, 2024. Each prize package is valued at £1,200 and includes a seat into the £100K guaranteed Women’s Winter Festival at the swanky Hippodrome Casino
