New Ownership, Familiar Faces

Perhaps the biggest off-the-felt development is the new ownership structure for the WSOP. Last year, Caesars Entertainment sold the WSOP brand to NSUS Group Inc. for a reported $500 Million—a historic move that brought the WSOP into the family of GGPoker, the world’s leading online poker operator. However, the same leadership team is at the helm, and with the added muscle of GGPoker’s global network, this year’s WSOP is set to reach new heights.

Ty Stewart continues as Chief Executive Officer, Gregory Chochon as Chief Operating Officer, and Erik Eidissen as Communications Manager. They’ve assured players that the WSOP’s essence will remain unchanged, while new resources from GGPoker’s parent company only promise to expand its global reach.

The Roadmap to Gold: Key Dates And Highlights

Opening Weekend (May 27–May 30)

  • Event #1: $1,000 Mystery Millions: The action kicks off with a double whammy! The $1,000 Mystery Millions is back with a vengeance, boasting a $1 Million top bounty and a $1 Million prize for the winner – a big incentive for players to join the WSOP action early in the summer. With multiple starting flights, this exciting format will attract players of all bankrolls and backgrounds, all hungry for that jaw-dropping bounty pull.
  • Event #2: $500 Industry Employees No-Limit Hold’em: Formerly known as the Casino Employees Event, this two-day tournament has evolved to include the broader spectrum of gaming, hospitality, and media personnel. It’s a fun and celebratory way to open the series, complete with a more inclusive name and vibe.

Mid-Series Fireworks

  • Event #14: $25,000 PLO/NLH Mixed High Roller (June 2): High-stakes players can dive into this hybrid Pot-Limit Omaha and No-Limit Hold’em tournament. The poker world watched this format grow from a modest $600 buy-in event; in 2025, it arrives in high-roller territory with a hefty $25k price tag.
  • Event #25: $100,000 High Roller Pot-Limit Omaha (July 1): For the first time, the WSOP is hosting a $100,000 buy-in PLO-only bracelet event—a new landmark that raises the stakes for fans of the four-card format. Top professionals and deep-pocketed enthusiasts will clash in what’s sure to be one of the summer’s most star-studded tournaments.
  • Event #59: Battle of the Ages (June 22): This brand-new $1,000 No-Limit Hold’em tournament is arguably the most exciting new addition to the schedule, splitting the field into two distinct flights: Day 1A is exclusively for players aged 50 and older, while Day 1B is for those ages 21 to 49. The survivors from both flights will merge on Day 2 to see which generation reigns supreme.
  • Event #93: T.O.R.S.E (July 11): Mixed-game lovers are in for a treat. The conventional H.O.R.S.E. format gets a shake-up by swapping out limit hold’em for triple draw deuce-to-seven lowball, creating the new acronym T.O.R.S.E. Expect veteran mixed-game specialists to flock to this $3,000 buy-in event.

WSOP Main Event (July 2–July 16)

  • And then there’s the Main Event, the crown jewel of the WSOP. The $10,000 buy-in, the two-week grind, the chance to etch your name in poker history – it doesn’t get any bigger than this. There will be four Day 1 flights (July 2–5), followed by multiple Day 2s, then a gruelling march toward the final table and the eventual crowning of the 2025 World Champion of Poker. Will we see another record-breaking field? Will a new champion rise to the top? The poker world will be watching with bated breath.

Buy-ins For Every Bankroll

No matter your bankroll, there’s a seat waiting for you at the WSOP. From the $300 Gladiators of Poker to the $250,000 Super High Roller, there’s an event for every player and every ambition.

  • Lowest Buy-in: $300 (Gladiators of Poker, guaranteeing $3 Million)
  • Mid-Tier Specials: Dozens of events at $1,500 or less, perfect for players dipping their toes into big tournament waters.
  • High Roller Action: Thirteen tournaments with buy-ins of $25,000 or more, including the returning $250,000 Super High Roller and the all-new $100,000 High Roller PLO.

For those with deep pockets—or those looking to make a statement—posting a single bullet in all 100 events would require an eye-popping $1,095,465 in total buy-ins.

Online Bracelet Events On The Horizon

Since Anthony Spinella became the first-ever WSOP online bracelet winner in 2015, the internet component of the series has expanded year after year. Last summer alone featured 30 online bracelets for players geo-located in New Jersey, Nevada, and Michigan, plus seven more exclusively for players in Pennsylvania. While the official 2025 WSOP schedule announcement did not include specific details on online events, that doesn’t necessarily mean they won’t be part of the festivities. Stay tuned for further updates, as the WSOP typically reveals its online schedule closer to the summer.

Join The Summer Of A Lifetime

In the words of WSOP CEO Ty Stewart, “There’s nothing like summer in Las Vegas, and we’re ready to welcome players to the biggest and best WSOP of all time.” Last year’s Main Event soared to historic heights, and with fresh ownership, big new events, and the familiar energy of the Horseshoe and Paris, the 2025 WSOP appears poised to break records yet again.

Team India Will be Looking to Make a Mark

Indian players had their best WSOP showing ever in 2014, crushing their previous record of 125 cashes in 2022 with an insane 219 cashes last year. They made it to eight final tables, and most importantly, they brought home two shiny gold bracelets. With these incredible achievements, India proudly took the #9 spot for bracelets won by country and #7 for WSOP earnings by country. And given the biggest-ever schedule of events on offer this summer, Team India will be looking to continue its record-breaking run and add to its fast-growing bracelet tally!

This is the summer to be in Vegas, folks. The WSOP is calling, and it’s time to answer. Whether you dream of satellite-ing into the Main Event, chasing the life-changing mystery bounty in the $1,000 Mystery Millions, or stepping up to test your skills in a high-stakes $100,000 championship, the WSOP continues to offer a truly once-in-a-lifetime experience for anyone who loves the game. So mark your calendars, book your flights, and get ready for the poker adventure of a lifetime!
